The Tokara Reserve Collection White 2023 from the Elgin appellation in South Africa’s Cape South Coast is a remarkable expression of the country’s cool-climate viticulture. Crafted by one of the Cape’s leading modern wineries, this cuvée showcases either a single varietal focus such as Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay, or a skilful blend, typical of the Reserve Collection style. The 2023 vintage benefits from the long, slow ripening period ideal for white grapes, ensuring a vivid aromatic profile, crisp acidity, and excellent structure. Vinification typically emphasises freshness and purity, with careful handling in the cellar to preserve varietal character—expect notes of citrus blossom, green apple, and mineral nuances, with subtle oak influence adding complexity without ever dominating.

Elgin, nestled inland from the southern Atlantic coast, is celebrated for its uniquely temperate, maritime-influenced climate and high-altitude vineyards.
