Château Kamnik’s Golden Temjanika 2024 is a vibrant and aromatic white wine crafted from the Temjanika grape, a local variant of the Muscat family much loved across the Balkans. The 2024 vintage is particularly noted for its pronounced floral and fruity character. With a dry profile, this wine captures the expressive nose and freshness typical of well-made Temjanika. The vineyards in the Skopje appellation benefit remarkably from both continental and Mediterranean influences, contributing to careful ripening and a balance between ripe fruit and lively acidity. Vinification is carried out with the aim of preserving the grape’s aromatics—gentle pressing, cool fermentation and maturation entirely in stainless steel to highlight the varietal purity and vibrancy.
The Vardar River Valley, stretching through North Macedonia, is a historic viticultural region blessed with a mosaic of fertile soils, ranging from alluvial plains to limestone slopes. The region enjoys hot, sun-drenched summers and relatively cold winters, conditions ideal for both indigenous and international grape varieties. Its ancient winemaking heritage can be traced back to Roman and even earlier periods, with traditions still maintained by modern producers who increasingly focus on quality and the unique potential of local varieties like Temjanika. Château Kamnik, based near the capital Skopje, has built its reputation on meticulous vineyard management and innovations that respect the region’s winemaking legacy.
Pair this Golden Temjanika with dishes that will allow its aromatic character to shine. It works especially well with North Macedonian cuisine such as grilled trout with herbs, Shopska salad with local cheeses and tomatoes, or stuffed peppers with rice. The wine’s fragrant and crisp personality also partners nicely with lightly spiced Asian cuisine or fresh goat’s cheese.
For optimal enjoyment, serve Golden Temjanika well-chilled, ideally between 8 and 10°C. This will enhance its aromatic expression and keep its lively freshness at the forefront, making every glass delightful whether enjoyed as an aperitif or alongside a meal.
