Roagna’s Barbaresco Gallina 2017 is a remarkable red wine hailing from one of Piedmont’s most storied crus. Made exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape, this wine reflects the finesse and depth for which Roagna is acclaimed. The 2017 vintage was marked by a warm and dry growing season, resulting in grapes of excellent ripeness and concentration. The Gallina vineyard, noted for its calcareous-marl soils and ideal south-facing slopes, imparts a distinctive elegance and minerality to the wine. Traditional vinification methods, including extended maceration and gentle ageing in large oak casks, preserve the Nebbiolo’s aromatics and structure while allowing the wine to express its terroir authentically.

The Piedmont region, nestled in the northwest of Italy, is world-renowned for its mists, rolling hills, and exceptional red wines. Barbaresco sits just northeast of Alba, on soils unique for their limestone and blue marl composition, lending the wines both vitality and complexity. The area’s continental climate, with cold winters and hot summers tempered by autumn fog, provides perfect conditions for Nebbiolo to thrive.
