The 2019 Matarocchio from Tenuta Guado al Tasso is a remarkable expression of Bolgheri DOC, located in the affluent wine region of Tuscany, Italy. This wine is crafted predominantly from 100% Cabernet Franc, a cépage that has achieved remarkable acclaim in this terroir thanks to its elegance and structure. The 2019 vintage is considered excellent, marked by balance between ripeness and acidity. Vinification focuses on meticulous hand harvesting, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and ageing in new French oak barrels for 18-20 months, allowing the wine to gain depth, complexity, and beautifully integrated tannins.
