Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey's Meursault "Les Narvaux" 2015 is a superb expression of Chardonnay from one of Burgundy’s most revered terroirs. Crafted from old vines situated in the Narvaux climat, just above the premier cru slopes of Meursault, this wine reflects meticulous attention in both vineyard and cellar. The Chardonnay grapes benefit from a gentle press, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and a judicious élevage in oak barrels—mostly used, allowing for purity and terroir to shine over pronounced wood notes. The 2015 vintage was marked by warm and sunny conditions, yielding wines of generosity, tension and a pleasing concentration. In the glass, expect aromas of white flowers, honeysuckle, ripe citrus, orchard fruits, and subtle hazelnut, complemented by a mineral backbone and a long, saline finish typical of top Meursault.

Meursault is one of the most renowned villages of the Côte de Beaune, a region blessed with a complex mosaic of limestone-rich soils that endow its Chardonnays with structure, finesse and ageing potential. The local climate is semi-continental, offering just the right mix of sunshine and rainfall to ripen the grapes slowly and evenly. The Narvaux lieu-dit, perched on the upper slopes, is particularly praised for its rocky soils and ideal exposure, giving wines an extra edge of tension and vibrancy. Historically, Meursault is celebrated for crafting some of Burgundy’s most luxurious and textural whites, cherished worldwide for their depth and balance.

For food pairing, this Meursault shines alongside refined dishes such as scallops in beurre blanc, lobster thermidor, or roast chicken with morel cream sauce. Classic regional matches include poulet de Bresse à la crème or a delicate quenelle de brochet. Mature cheeses like Comté or Beaufort also enhance its nutty undertones.
