Alella, one of the smallest Designations of Origin (DO) in Catalonia, is located just a few kilometres north of Barcelona, Spain. Nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the Serra de Marina hills, this wine region benefits from a unique microclimate, ideal for producing high-quality wines. The granite soils, known as "sauló", enhance the expression of the terroir in the wines.

Alella is renowned for its fresh and aromatic white wines, predominantly made from the indigenous Pansa Blanca (Xarel·lo) variety, as well as other grape varieties like Chardonnay and Macabeo. The red wines, often crafted with Garnacha and Merlot grapes, are distinguished by their elegance and complexity.

This region, rich in winemaking history dating back to Roman times, has managed to preserve its heritage while incorporating modern viticulture and winemaking techniques. The wines of Alella, available in numerous wine cellars, are perfect for enhancing any wine cellar management application.
