Bertrand et Axelle Machard de Gramont’s 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges “Les Hauts-Pruliers” is a classic expression of Pinot Noir from one of the most esteemed villages of La Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. This cuvée is sourced from “Les Hauts-Pruliers” vineyard, which is known for its iron-rich clay and limestone soils, imparting both finesse and a distinctive mineral signature to the wine. The 2020 vintage benefited from a warm yet balanced growing season, which allowed the grapes to reach optimal ripeness while retaining vibrancy and structure. Vinification is carried out with respect for traditional Burgundian methods focused on gentle extraction, resulting in finesse, silky tannins, and pure fruit expression.

The Côte de Nuits, located in northern Burgundy, is famed for producing some of the world’s finest Pinot Noirs. The unique microclimate—characterised by cool breezes and moderate rainfall—contributes to the elegance and aromatic complexity of the region’s wines. The soils are predominantly limestone with varying amounts of marl and clay, creating distinctive terroir expressions even within short distances. Nuits-Saint-Georges itself, with its long-standing winemaking tradition, is synonymous with robust yet nuanced reds—often more structured than many neighbouring appellations.
