The Commandaria appellation is one of the viticultural jewels of Cyprus and boasts PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status. Recognised as one of the oldest wines still produced today, Commandaria has a history dating back over 5,000 years. This traditional sweet wine is mainly made from the indigenous grape varieties Xynisteri and Mavro, carefully cultivated on the sun-drenched slopes of the Troodos mountains. Following a late harvest to maximise the sugar concentration, the grapes are naturally sun-dried, a method that enhances the wine's aromas and richness.

The winemaking process for Commandaria includes fermentation and ageing in oak barrels lasting several years, which gives the wine its complexity and depth. Its amber hue reveals captivating aromas of dried fruits, honey, nuts, and spices. On the palate, Commandaria impresses with its sweetness balanced by refreshing acidity, offering a long and elegant finish. This wine also plays a significant role in the cultural and culinary traditions of Cyprus.

Perfect as an accompaniment to dried fruit desserts or enjoyed on its own as a refined digestif, Commandaria is a true expression of Cypriot winemaking heritage, to be discovered and savoured by wine enthusiasts around the world.
