The grape variety Muscat à Petits Grains

Muscat à Petits Grains is revered as one of the oldest and most distinguished Muscat grape varieties, celebrated for its expressive aromatic profile. On the nose, it exudes intense fragrances of orange blossom, honeysuckle, rose petals, and freshly crushed grapes, often lifting off the palate with vibrant notes of citrus zest, peach, apricot, and delicate spice. The palate typically showcases a balanced interplay of lively acidity and a subtle, elegant sweetness, culminating in a lingering, perfumed finish.

This variety thrives in several renowned wine regions, most notably in France’s Rhône Valley (especially in Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise AOC), Alsace, Languedoc-Roussillon, and also in northern Italy and parts of Greece and Australia.
