Plant Robert is a rare and historic red grape variety, primarily grown in the Lavaux wine region along the northern shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland's canton of Vaud. The grape, nearly extinct by the late 20th century, has seen a renaissance thanks to passionate local vintners. Plant Robert produces medium-bodied wines distinguished by a vibrant ruby hue and a subtle yet complex aromatic profile. On the nose, one discovers delicate red berry notes, especially wild cherry and raspberry, complemented by nuances of white pepper, violet, and a gentle earthiness.
