The grape variety Blauer Burgunder (Pinot Noir)

Blauer Burgunder, internationally renowned as Pinot Noir, is esteemed for its elegance and complexity. This red grape variety reveals a delicate yet expressive aromatic profile, marked by notes of red berries such as cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry, often enhanced by subtle floral hints, earthiness, and, with maturity, nuances of truffle and forest floor. On the palate, Pinot Noir wines display a medium body with fine, silky tannins and vibrant acidity, resulting in wines that are both fresh and refined.

Pinot Noir thrives in cooler climate regions most notably Burgundy in France, where it attains its greatest expression. Other prominent regions include Germany (where it is also known as Spätburgunder), Switzerland, Austria, Oregon and California in the United States, and parts of New Zealand.
