The grape variety Furmint

Furmint is a distinctive white grape variety renowned for its significant role in Hungarian viticulture, particularly as the backbone of the celebrated Tokaji wines. Its aromatic profile is marked by lively citrus notes, green apple, and stone fruits, complemented by delicate floral hints and a characteristic minerality. On the palate, Furmint combines vibrant acidity with flavours of ripe pear, quince, and a subtle honeyed richness, especially in sweet styles, while dry versions reveal crispness and pronounced freshness.
