Laški Rizling, internationally known as Welschriesling, is a white grape variety renowned for its versatility and refreshing character. The aromatic profile typically features delicate notes of green apple, citrus, pear, and subtle floral undertones, often complemented by a distinct minerality. On the palate, Laški Rizling is usually light to medium-bodied, offering crisp acidity and a clean, vibrant finish, sometimes displaying nuances of stone fruit and gentle herbal hints.
Predominantly cultivated in Central and Eastern Europe, the grape thrives in regions such as Slovenia—especially in the Podravje region—Croatia, Hungary, Austria, and the Czech Republic.
