The grape variety Petite Arvine

Petite Arvine is an esteemed white grape variety indigenous to the Valais region of Switzerland, regarded for its distinctive and expressive character. On the nose, it reveals enticing aromas of grapefruit, rhubarb, fresh lime zest, and subtle notes of alpine flowers. The palate is defined by a vibrant, zesty acidity, complemented by nuances of green apple, ripe pear, and a characteristic salty or mineral tang on the finish, which provides remarkable freshness and complexity.

Primarily cultivated in the Swiss Valais, Petite Arvine is also found, although more scarcely, in the Aosta Valley in north-western Italy. The grape excels in cool, mountainous terrains, thriving on well-drained, steep slopes.
