White Grapes

Moll, also known locally as Prensal Blanc, is an indigenous white grape variety predominantly cultivated on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands, Spain. Renowned for its delicate aromatic profile, Moll wines often exhibit subtle floral notes, hints of green apple, pear, and citrus, underpinned by a gentle mineral character. The palate is typically light to medium-bodied, offering a refreshing acidity and a clean, crisp finish, sometimes enhanced by faint herbaceous or saline nuances reflecting its Mediterranean terroir.

This grape thrives in Mallorca’s warm, maritime climate, particularly in the Binissalem and Pla i Llevant DOs, where it forms the backbone of the region’s distinctive white wines. Moll is most often vinified as a varietal, though it can also be blended with other indigenous or international white varieties.

The resulting wines are usually dry, focusing on purity and freshness, making them excellent as aperitifs or companions to a variety of dishes. Ideal pairings include fresh seafood, grilled white fish, shellfish, salads, and mild cheeses, where the wine’s subtle fruitiness and brisk acidity elevate delicate flavours and cleanse the palate.
