This single-vineyard cuvée is sourced from the renowned Arborina site within La Morra, an area celebrated for producing Barolo of particular finesse and aromatic clarity. The 2019 vintage in Piedmont was marked by favourable climatic conditions: a cooler growing season leading to wines with pronounced elegance, lively acid structure, and refined tannins. Mauro Veglio employs meticulous vineyard management and traditional vinification, with gentle maceration and ageing in large oak barrels, allowing the wine’s complex bouquet and terroir character to truly shine.

Nestled in north-western Italy, the Barolo region stretches over the Langhe hills—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area benefits from a continental climate, distinguished by marked day-to-night temperature shifts which enhance the aromatic development of Nebbiolo. The vines draw from calcareous marl and clay-rich soils, contributing both structure and minerality to the final wine. Barolo’s rich viticultural history dates back centuries, earning it the moniker “the king of wines, the wine of kings”, with each cru expressing subtly different nuances based on microclimate and soil.

Elsewhere, it pairs well with roast lamb, wild mushroom risotto, aged cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or matured Pecorino, and game birds like pheasant.

For optimal tasting, decant the wine at least one hour before serving to soften its youthful tannins and unlock its complex aromas. Serve at 16-18°C in large tulip-shaped glasses to allow the wine to breathe and fully reveal its layered bouquet and long, elegant finish.
